Monday, 25 January 2016

Good morning my fellow blog lovers! How are you all? I have spent a good 6+ years reading beauty and lifestyle blogs. It all started with youtube gurus Elle & Blair Fowler and Dulce Candy. I would check their blogs daily, it was a real hobbie of mine and after all these years I finally built up the courage to start my own blog. YAY!

Nude Nails Obsession

Friday, 22 January 2016

I cannot stray away from nude and neutral nails. I have some really pretty bright nail polish but I just cant wear them. I love neutral nails, I think Kim Kardashian may be to blame (her nails are always pretty). I love how a nude nail polish makes your hands look fresh, effortless, clean and feminine instantly. Here is a list of nude nail varnish that are a must have for your collection.

        (How gorj are Shannons nails?!)

What is your favourite colour to wear on your nails? Do you like nude nails as much as I do?
Please let me know some of your favourite nail varnish brands too for me to try out.

Makeup Haul

Monday, 18 January 2016

Good afternoon everyone! We all need to treat ourselves every now and then, right? Well I went out this weekend with the intention of just getting a new mascara but then I went into Debenhams and found the Too Faced stand. Goodbye Christmas money! Opps!
I finally got my hands on the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and it is goregous! Not only does it look nice but it also smells delish! All of the shades in this palette are my cup of tea. I only really wear brown eye makeup. I prefer the more natural eyeshadow look so this palette is perfect for me. And it also has some pretty cranberry and purple shades that are perfect for adding a little pop to my normal look. This palette is £39 from Debenhams.

I then had to buy some Melted lipsticks. I picked them up in the shade Nude and Peony. I am a little late on the liquid lipstick band-wagon but better late than never I guess. I am wearing the shade Nude today and it is a goregous browny nude lip which is my favourite colour to wear right now. These retail for £19 each.

Next, I got a new mascara. I pove the Maybelline Lash Sensational but I always like to try different mascaras because there are so many available. This Rimmel London Wonder'ful mascar with argan oil one caught my eye because it has such a big wand and because it contains argan oil so I'm hoping that it will bring some goodness to my lashes. And I got this mascara for £5.99 on offer at Boots.

I have used this Maybelline Browsatin Definer before but I bought it in a shade that was too dark for me. So I picked a new one up in the shade dark blonde and it suits me perfectly. I love the pencil side but the powder end is perfect for plumping up the look of your brows. I bought this from Boots for £5.99
Again, speaking of liquid lipsticks and how behind I am on this trend I wanted to try out this Boujour one. They are a fraction of the price of the Too Faced ones so I thought why not give it a go. I got shade 09 Happy Nude Year for £8.99 in Boots. I have to say thought in the tube it looks a lot more nude but it swatches as a more deep pink colour. But still very pretty.

There we have my makeup buys from the weekend. I think I did pretty good considering I only wanted a new mascara! Haha!

Have you treated yourself to some new makeup recently? What do you think of my purchases? Let me know if you have tried some of these items before.

Beauty Hacks #1

Friday, 15 January 2016

I am writing this post whilst munching on some kale crisps, sounds horrible but they actually take good! Anyways, I love beauty hacks post and videos. Its really fun to see if something actually works before you take the time to try it out yourself. You always see different hacks on Pinterest but some of them seem too good to be true. So I decided to share some of my favourite beauty hacks I have discovered over the years starting with my top 2.

Whitening teeth mask.
Now this may sound weird but this is something I have done for years and years to remove stains from your teeth and it hasnt caused any damage or sensitivity to me teeth, and I especially love to do this now that I have my braces on and they can stain easily. You will need-
- whitening toothpaste
-30 minutes.
(I love this oral-b toothpaste, it actually keeps your teeth nice and white)

Apply a generous layer of your toothpaste to your teeth, focus on the ones visible when you smile. Now leave it on for 15-30 minutes and then brush your teeth as normal. You should see a difference instantly.

Applying Dry Shampoo before you go to sleep.
We are all told to put dry shampoo on your hair in the morning when you have no time to wash your hair. But a great tip is to apply it to your roots before you go to sleep and you will wake up with hri that looks freshly washed. All you need to do is brush through your hair and you are good-to-go. This is my favourite tip because I need to wash my hair everyday but I try not to because its bad for your hair.

DIY Acne Fighting Night Oil
This is something I discovered this past month on pinterest. You need:-
-one part tea tree oil
-two parts bio oil

This oil is good for acne prone skin, acne scars, uneven skintone and dull skin. I love this oil. It has really helped my skin clear up and has faded some scars I had. Bio oil has vitamins E and A, lavender and camomile oil with a rose scent. And tee tree oil is antibacterial and it soothes the skin. Quick tip- dont apply it anywhere near your eyes because it will burn!

Here are some great Pinterest hacks videos from some of my favourite youtubers-

Top 5 Perfumes

Friday, 8 January 2016

I feel like perfumes are such a personal preference. I am so picky when it comes to fragrances. I like quite floral, musky or vanilla based scents, just very feminine smells overall. Over the years, I have finally found a good handul of perfumes I love, some expensive and some are more affordable.

YSL Black Opium is described as a glam rock aesthetic, this addictive gourmand floral entices with notes of black coffee for a shot of adrenaline, white florals to instantly seduce, and vanilla for sweetness and sensuality. Playing on the incongruity between the bitterness of the coffee bean accord, an ingredient never used before in such a high quantity in a feminine fragrance and radiant white flowers, BLACK OPIUM gives a sensation of light-headedness, bordering on ecstasy.
RRP £39.00 for 30ml

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb is a full-bodied and opulent, Flowerbomb explodes into a bouquet of sensations with its addictive floral notes which leave their trail, like a whirlwind that is distinctly couture.
RRP £49.50 for 30ml

River Island Paris is descirbed as a Radiant and voluptuous perfume, with a sexy mix of white flowers and creamy woods blended with dark amber and vanilla bark. This river island perfumes is a perfect everyday school or work scent. I find that it lasts all day and it is so cheap but you get such an high quality scent in this bottle.
RRP £10.00 per 30ml

Vera Wang Princess is a sexy scent with a mixture of waterlily, apple, mandarin meringue, and golden apricot skin, dark chocolate, amber, musk, and vanilla. The only problem I have with this perfume is I dont find it lasts long on my skin.
RRP £20 for 30ml

Britney Spears Fantasy Perfume is on I actually havent used for a while (because I have found others I love even more), but this pefume smells so nice! It has red lychee, exotic kiwi, jasmine petals and a creamy musk scent.
RRP £23.00 per 30ml
What are some of your favourite perfumes? Have you tried any of these before? Let me know.
